Signore e signori ecco a voi: Aldehyde C10 (Decanal)!


L’Aldehyde C-10, noto anche come Decanal, è una molecola aromatica appartenente alla famiglia degli aldeidi alifatiche, un gruppo di composti organici caratterizzati dal gruppo funzionale –CHO.
È un liquido incolore, dall’odore potente, grasso-ceroso e agrumato, naturalmente presente in piccole quantità nella buccia d’arancia, nel coriandolo e in alcune essenze floreali.

In profumeria è uno degli aldeidi più iconici, utilizzato sin dagli anni ’20 per dare luminosità, diffusione e quel tocco “frizzante” che rese celebre Chanel N°5 e tante altre creazioni della profumeria classica e moderna.

Profilo Olfattivo

L’Aldehyde C-10 si apre con un impatto agrumato e brillante, che ricorda la scorza d’arancia amara e il limone candito, ma evolve rapidamente verso una nota cerosa, calda e quasi “saponata”, tipica delle fragranze aldeidiche.

È una materia prima molto “volubile”: potente, dominante e difficilissima da dosare.
In alte concentrazioni può risultare metallica o pungente, ma nelle giuste proporzioni regala alle composizioni una freschezza sofisticata, quasi eterea, che amplifica le note floreali e pulite del profumo.

In sintesi olfattiva:

Volatilità: alta (nota di testa)

Accordi ideali: fiori bianchi, gelsomino, rosa, muschi, note ozonate, iris

Utilizzo in profumeria

In mani esperte, l’Aldehyde C-10 diventa un moltiplicatore di luce: dona corpo e scia ai bouquet floreali, pulizia ai profumi muschiati e modernità ai legnosi.
È spesso usato in combinazione con altri aldeidi a catena lunga (C-11, C-12 Lauric, C-12 MNA) per creare un effetto “sparkling” e sofisticato, riconoscibile nei migliori profumi di nicchia ed extrait de parfum.
